The current housing Issues are as follows: • There’s a backlog of over 2 million housing units, leaving millions in informal settlements. • The poor infrastructure and lack of basic services in many low-income housing areas is a major challenge. •There’s a an increasing demand for affordable housing in cities. • Corruption and inefficiencies in housing delivery programs creates a recurring backlog in solving the challenge. Efforts continue through various initiatives and public-private partnerships to address housing shortages and improve living conditions. However, the need for affordable, well-located housing remains a critical issue in South Africa today. To empower communities by building sustainable, low-cost homes that improve the quality of life for families and contribute to long-term social and economic stability.
